Dr. Robert Golden, dean of the UW School of Medicine and Public Health, said he’s impressed that people can turn anxiety about diseases into altruism.
“The impact is way out of proportion to the actual dollars received,” said Golden, who has personally supported one such effort, Lily’s Fund, because he has a child with epilepsy.
